First, the Chamber sends out a "Welcome New Member" email blast to all of our business members announcing you as a new member.

Included in Membership is a free advertisement in the Avery Journal Times Newspaper. This is a $100 value for your business. 

Chamber Directory Listing: All member businesses are listed in the annual Chamber Visitor/Business Directory. The categories included are: Accommodations, Attractions & Recreation, Relocation & Real Estate, Restaurant, Retail Shopping, Service and Christmas Tree guides, Recreation, Arts and Galleries.

Media Sharing: The Avery Chamber works hand in hand with high country radio, print media and television audiences to get the word out about new members, attractions and upcoming events. $500 Value

Frequent Phone Referrals: Our Tourism office located conveniently in the Tynecastle Shoppes at the intersection of highways 105 & 184 see a bustle of visitors all season long and continuously receives requests for information on the Avery County area. Regardless of the season, the Chamber works hard sending out packets of information to people visiting and relocating to the High Country. The Chamber has an 800 phone line and local telephone line to help visitors save money.

Chamber Website: All member businesses will be listed under their appropriate category or categories on our brand new easy-to-navigate website. As your business evolves and changes services, the Chamber can get the information changed in house and promotional information shared with other business members immediately.

Involvement: Your Chamber participates and is represented in local, regional and statewide travel & tourism organizations. We’re proud to be a member of the North Carolina High Country Host, which represents a six-county region, as well as several other Western North Carolina agencies and small business affiliations. We work closely with the North Carolina Visitor Center in Raleigh and State Visitor Center keeping them informed of events and businesses in our area.

Networking Opportunities: Experience the Avery Business Community (ABC) Mission. Chamber members are invited and encouraged to attend AfterHours and Quarterly Breakfast Networking events to share your information with other businesses and showcase your product and services.

Targeted Informational Packets:  We mail requested information and include pertinent information on our Chamber members. We have several “packets” of information available upon request. For example, people who are thinking about moving here would get a Relocation packet, people who are coming to vacation would get a Visitor’s packet, children who are working on a county project for their schools would get a School Packet.

Public Internet Access: Free computers with DSL Internet service available to the public seven (7) days a week. This is very helpful to our visitors!
